Welcome to the Edmonton Climate Hub!

Based on IPCC research, we support a 2030 target of 45% reduction in Edmonton greenhouse gas emissions from 2010 levels, with net zero by 2050 as the ultimate goal.

The Edmonton Climate Hub is a volunteer-led, non-profit organization that unites a diverse group of Edmontonians for effective local, cooperative action on climate change. We represent a variety of communities, industries, cultures and causes that are taking the demand for a post-carbon economy to the streets, to influencers, and policymakers. We are collecting and sharing data on local greenhouse gas outputs to drive and assess Edmonton's transition to a net-zero standard.

2022 Edmonton and Calgary Mayors' Summit on Climate Change

You are invited!
https://www.calgaryclimatehub.ca/mayors_summit_on_climate_change
This is your opportunity to hear the mayors of Alberta’s largest cities, Mayor Amarjeet Sohi of Edmonton, and Mayor Jyoti Gondek of Calgary, discuss their strategies for climate action.
Join us for this event, moderated by Laura Lynch, host of CBC’s What On Earth, which promises to be a compelling session with two highly engaging mayors, both of whose City Councils have declared a climate emergency.
How will Edmonton and Calgary meet the challenge of achieving a just transition that reduces emissions by 2030 consistent with keeping climate change near 1.5° C, as proposed by IPCC and negotiated by the COP26 United Nations Climate Pact?

Join us on April 6, 2022 at 7pm for this online event.
Hosted by Calgary Climate Hub and Edmonton Climate Hub.

Supported by:
Council of Canadians - Edmonton Chapter • The Climate Reality Project - Canada •
Part of the Edmonton Public Library "Forward Thinking Speaker Series"
